Chef Alex Young from Zingerman’s Roadhouse with Pie. And more pie.

Pie and more pie. Thanks to chef Alex Young and sous chef Allison Anastasio Zeglis for pies galore this week. Apple and bacon pie served with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese, sweet potato pecan pie, and savory cauliflower, shitake mushroom egg and cheese pie, all served with fried eggs, and the option of Biercamp sausage, bacon and autumn salad mix. Amazing and delicious!

Thanks to the great group of volunteers who showed up Thursday evening for prep, Friday morning for service and clean up, and the 210 guests who enjoyed all the specials.

Thanks too, to Susie Baity for stepping in and being me while I was packing for my LA trip, to Mel Adams for making time to come back and expedite service, Dan Vernia for being his wonderful self, and to Judge Carol Kuhnke for stopping by and celebrating with us, Sunseed Farm for their beautiful CSA produce, and massage therapist Brian Truskowski for his complimentary massage therapy samples. What a great day!

Please remember that the first Selma Cafe Evening of Music is this Saturday night at Selma Cafe in the basement yoga studio. You can pre-order tickets HERE and pick them up when you arrive, or come by Saturday evening, but space is limited! BYO drinks, I’ll provide ice, glasses and some snacks. All proceeds from this great line up of musicians goes to fund Selma Cafe becoming its own formal non-profit 501c3.

Also, the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 23, I’ll have coffee and donuts from 10am until noon. Come by and share some food and connect with friends in a less rushed and busy morning for a suggested donation of $5.

See you in the kitchen soon!

~Lisa
